Forgotten Again

An exhibition of Laura Kaasik’s graduation project

The opening of Laura Kaasik’s exhibition Forgotten Again will take place at Tampere Maja on January 11th at 17.00. The exhibition explores themes of recycling clothing, its impact on the environment and the textile industry’s role in clothing production.

Laura combines art and fashion. The exhibition consists of three parts: current fashion, visions of the future and the reuse and rediscovery of old clothing. This exhibition aims to spark a discussion on the topic of sustainable fashion.

Laura Kaasik has graduated from the Tartu School of Art with a degree in fashion design. She is continuing her studies in the same field and will graduate in February of 2024. The exhibition aims to answer questions such as “How much do we recycle?”, “Can you recycle clothing that has already been recycled?” and “What happens to clothing, that has been abandoned in places such as old cottages or barns?”.

Laura Kaasik is interested in the future of fashion and clothes that already exist. She wonders whether we will go looking for them, recycle them or perhaps even make them into works of art.
