New exhibition

The gallery of Tampere House (Jaani 4) will be opened on Thursday, 19.10. at 5 pm Jyväskylä photographer’s exhibition “Vanitas”, the theme of which is the loss of life.

The motto of the exhibition is the Collector’s words from the Bible: “Nullity is nothing!” Says the collector. “It simply came to our notice then. How does a person benefit from all the hard work they struggle with under the sun? I saw all the work that is done under the sun, and I realized that all is vanity, the pursuit of the wind. ”

Maija Holma has been inspired by the work of 17th century Dutch masters who wanted to. Through the still lifes, Vanitas reminds people of mortality, the shortness of life, the loss of worldly wealth, and the equality of people before death.
