From Poem to Calligraphy
Literary Art Exhibition at Tampere House (Jaani 4, Tartu) on Tuesday, July 8 at 6 PM
For one evening, the cultural cellar of Tampere House will showcase calligraphy works by Tartu-based artist Rein Maantoa, created from poems by well-known Finnish and Estonian poets. Some of the featured poets will also be present to perform their poetry.
The event takes place on Tuesday, July 8 at 6 PM, and the audience is also welcome to present their own poems. The event is organized by POEM ry and Tampere House. Free entry.
The Tartu-based artist Rein Maantoa has for years been creating calligraphy works based on poems by poets from different countries. The second organizer of the event is POEM ry, an association based in Mänttä-Vilppula, Finland. The purpose of the association is to develop and support literary art in its various forms.
The featured poets are: Contra, Harri Hertell, Reetta Huttunen, Heidi Iivari, Aapo Ilves, Eine Joutsijoki, Arto Juurakko, Matti Kivilahti, Paula Noronen, Teemu Paariahti, Aino Suhola ja Tomi Voronin.
