“Experience”
Lev Vassiljev’s jubilee exhibition will be opened at the Tampere House Gallery (Jaani 4, Tartu) on Thursday, May 2 at 4 p.m. The exhibition consists of erotic and abstract oil and temperament paintings. The artist is celebrating his 90th birthday this year.
Lev Vasilyev was born in 1929 in Tula, Russia. He studied at the Estonian National Institute of Art in 1950-1956 and graduated in sculpture. From 1956 to 1970, he worked mainly in Moscow, where he worked with well-known alternative artists Ülo Sooster, Ilya Kabakov and Ernst Neizvestny.
As an artist, he has done the most painting and graphics. He has also illustrated books. The exhibition has been made in cooperation with the Estonian Artists’ Union.
The gallery of Tampere House is open every day from 9 am to 6 pm. Free entrance!
